Fast-forward to spring of 2019 and, two more kids later, we started the home hunt again. We were very strategic and determined to find a home that would fit their needs in the Bay Area. They are both natives of the Bay Area and refused to believe they wouldn’t ever own a home in San Jose. Wouldn’t you know it, it came much sooner than anticipated! Their whole process from preapproval to closing only took 30 days! My amazing teammate, Elva Wormley with C2 Financial, was a tremendous help in making sure their loan was secure and the transaction progressed with ease. I’m so blessed to have seen this home story unfold. They were told it would never happen. Now, their beautiful boys have a big backyard to play in and a toy room to die for! Even though the home was in a different area of San Jose from where they were originally looking, the neighborhood was still great. "When we first started our homebuying search, we believed that God was making a way for us to be able to purchase a house in the Bay Area, even though prices seemed unattainable. We were very unsure that we would be able to afford a house here. To add to that, we weren’t sure where our careers would go and develop here; we had a plan made up to actually move toward the Sacramento area after building our careers here, in the Bay Area, for a couple of years. While we were securing a lender (which we were trying to do AFTER we had already entered into contract — whoops), our original lender completely pulled out because of the massive coronavirus uncertainty of mid-March. We had to find a new lender within 24 to 48 hours. Our breakthrough homebuying moment came when I was planning on leaving my job due to a variety of reasons. When I notified my boss and superiors, they made every effort to keep me and addressed my concerns, which I did not expect to be done so quickly, as I had started working there less than a year prior. Through God’s miraculous ways, we were able to find a new lender, which ended up being better for us financially.
